How I Got One WWII Aerial Victory Without Flying A Fighter!

Major George Preddy, the world’s top Mustang ace, ended his career in the Army Air Corps on Christmas Day 1944 when he was shot down by friendly ground fire during the Battle of the Bulge. At the end of the war, and until the 1950s, he was credited with having shot down 27.5 enemy aircraft, and with destroying another five by strafing. (more)
